MOI Band Springfield, Illinois

Chartered 2008

The plaza still smells like wet limestone after a night rain.

MOI Band began because Maren was done watching Springfield players buy a static letter and then stall a four-iron into the Lincoln rails.

The first hang was on a borrowed beam in Suite 5 with the window open onto the old statehouse lawn. The first carbon was grocery-store pink. The charter has not moved: neighborhood first, matching second, refusals in ink.

We still will not file a driver face as a courtesy hang. Window 5 keeps three drawers: irons, woods, wedges. Anything else belongs to another counter on Adams.

Fair week we shorten Saturday. If the carillon is playing a wedding, park on Sixth and walk. The plaque is bronze because paint peeled in the first winter.
